Milwaukee Tool & Forge Ratchet and Sockets

This week's selection is a ratchet and sockets from Milwaukee Tool & Forge, a rarely seen company operating in S. Milwaukee, WI. The 1/2-drive ratchet design is reminiscent of the Williams S-50 in the handle shape and the threaded retaining nut. The side-mounted pawl design also resembles the refrigeration ratchets made by a number of companies.

The tapered-wall 12-point sockets look similar in construction to the Snap-On sockets from the late 1920s, and are marked with "MTF" and the socket size. (The markings appear as though they were hand-stamped.) The tools probably date to the late 1920s or early 1930s.
